Traditional ruler appeals to Gov. Ikpeazu

Eze Ishmael Nnakwu, the traditional ruler of Etiti Ohazu Autonomous Community in Abia, has appealed to Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu to rehabilitate Obohia road, to ease the sufferings of the residents.

Nnakwu made the appeal in Aba on Monday when talking to naijaroyaltyculture.blogspot.com, he said that Obohia Road traversed three local government areas of Aba South, Ugwunagbor and Ukwa East and is strategic to the people.

The road is very important for rural farmers to be able to transport their produce to Aba Town. But due to the deplorable condition of this road, most agricultural produce are diverted to Port Harcourt and sold at very exorbitant prices.

According to him, the community has become a disaster zone requiring urgent attention, due to the gullies created by flooding.
We are living in a disaster area of Aba South Local Government Area; we suffer from lots of epidemics. I have made series of reports to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Abia State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) but to no avail. My community is usually submerged by floods at the  slightest rain.

Nnakwu said that the condition of their road had worsened due to the absence of refuse disposal bins. He, therefore, urged the governor to either take over the rehabilitation/reconstruction of the road or use his influence to attract NDDC to address their plight
